This is EXACTLY what I try to teach my students; it’s why I write; and fucking thank you for this quote cuz I need it for interviews, it being an explanation of why my book isn’t “nonfiction” or “straight autobiography” etc blah blah

I teach at Goddard College — mostly because of its pedagogical commitments and history of putting the needs of learners ahead of orthodox curricula. I love how this video outlines our historical principles as being a school for living that believes thought should be tested by action, learning is only effective when the need is felt by students, students must be responsible for learning, and education is life-long.
